September 7th 2017 couldn’t arrive quick enough for these two, it was pretty obvious from our first meeting at a cafe that Samantha and Jarrod had a beautiful connection and it showed at the engagement session! They are completely comfortable with each other, no awkwardness in their photos, just pure adoration for each other!

Samantha and Jarrod’s wedding was a real family affair, Jarrod and his groomsmen were getting ready at his parents place with all his family there, and Samantha and her bridesmaids were at Samantha’s parents place with Samantha’s family getting ready. They had Aunties, Uncles, Brothers, Sisters, Parents, Grandparents, Nieces and Nephews.

Paula Koda Sunshine Coast Celebrant wrote their ceremony which was beautifully written and special just for Samantha and Jarrod!
After the ceremony we were taken to a spot on the golf course by the event coordinator of Pelican Waters Golf Club and as we were running behind schedule we got through photos fairly quickly.
It took a little bit for Jarrod and Samantha’s Nephew to join in on the photos but once he did there was no stopping him, he wanted photos with the big boys!
Oh and I need to mention an outstanding speech from Samantha’s MOH which she surprised everyone with by turning it into a rap song, so good and very clever!

One thing I always ask my couples to do is fill in a questionnaire for me, it gives me a bit of an insight into their relationship  and I was totally blown away by some of their answers, so I am going to share one from each of theirs.
I asked Samantha ” What is one of the sweetest, most romantic things your partner has done for you?”
Her reply ” I’ll never forget our 1 year anniversary , where he came to my house dressed in a suit with a beautiful bunch of flowers and took me out for an amazing romantic dinner! “

Jarrod’s question “Describe your memories around the moment you realised your partner was more than just a friend?”
Jarrod’s reply ” I knew she was never going to be just my friend, so I stayed persistent. She has the best personality and is the most kind hearted woman I have ever met! “

These too were supposed to meet and become soul mates!

Congratulations Samantha and Jarrod and all the best for your future together and new adventures as Mr and Mrs!

I met Deb and Dan while I was getting ready to pack up for the day at the Sunshine Coast Wedding Expo at Maroochy RSL last year in November. Deb had mentioned they raced up from Brisbane that afternoon to have a look for a few suppliers for their wedding, but they had a huge night the night before from their engagement party! Must have been quite a night as they looked a little partied out ha ha…..sorry Deb. It sounded like it was a great night for them!

A few weeks later we organised a catch up just to have a bit of chat about what they were looking for, details about their day and so on. Deb told me the story about how they met and how Dan proposed which is a cute story so I’m going to share…..sorry Dan!
Deb and Dan actually used to go to the same school, but Deb doesn’t remember him from school and it wasn’t until many years later they met up through the world of Facebook.
After being together for a little while they had a family holiday planned for Fiji. Deb, Dan, kids and Deb’s Mum!
Dan had planned a romantic night which included dinner and walk along the beach where he got down on one knee and asked Deb to marry him!

Leading up to the wedding we organised an engagement session and I asked Deb to bring the kids along aswell and we would do some family photos too, during the photos Deb’s son spat out that Deb was having a baby, oh my how exciting a new baby on the way plus a wedding!

The wedding day arrived, the sun was shining, the rain had cleared……perfect day to get married.
Pageboy Thane walk the aisle with his sister and cousin to follow, then bridesmaid’s and here comes Deb and her Dad!
Deb looked stunning in her White Lily Couture Dress and her Dad looking proud.
Lorna wrote a ceremony perfectly for Deb and Dan, it was sweet, funny, little bit emotional just the perfect mix.
After the ceremony we ventured out around the golf greens for a couple of photos before Deb and Dan finished off their perfect day celebrating back at reception with their closest family and friends.

Congratulations again Deb and Dan!
xx

Amberly + Phil’s Engagement Session
One Tree Hill, Maleny

Bliss Photography by Leah

When I meet my couples I like to get to know them a little bit and I ask them how they met, a little about their relationship and how the did the proposal happen. Let me tell you there are some romantic guys out there!

We decided to head up to One Tree Hill, Maleny, they wanted something a bit different for their photos as their wedding will be at Noosa North Shore Retreat and wanted a completely different look and feel to the beach wedding.

As I hadn’t met with Amberly and Phil before their engagement session I didn’t know a whole lot about them, we had a quick chat before we started, I watched the way they interacted with each other. You can tell alot about a couple when they are in a session together feeling a little vulnerable in front of the camera.

During the shoot I was talking to Amberly and Phil asking them questions about each other, guiding them through the session with lots of laughs and smiles and they nailed their session.

Phil proposed to Amberly while in New York. They made their way to the Empire State building first thing one morning. They went all the way up to the 102nd floor. Amberly’s Dad was distracting her whilst Phil got down on one knee and Amberly’s Mum got into position to take photos. Once Amberly turned around there was Phil with a huge smile on his face, holding her gorgeous ring, asking her to marry him! So very romantic, what a beautiful surprise and something they are able to share with their children in years to come.

I cannot wait for their fairytale wedding next month when we get to do it all over again!

Halee and Matt Elope | Maroochydore Botanical Gardens

It’s not always necessary to have a big huge wedding! It’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
Halee and Matt have already been together for a long time, have three gorgeous children and expecting their fourth in 2017, they were after something low key with the people that matter to them most. They spoke with Toni Collett Celebrant who wrote them a gorgeous ceremony, Toni recommended me to do their photos and that was it! No decorations, no fancy dresses or suits.
They wanted little fuss as possible and it was completely perfect for them.
There were many many laughs and tears and very relaxed.
It was a very small intimate gathering, and I just loved it.
After the ceremony and signing of the papers we did a few photos  and then Halee, Matt, their children and guests went out for lunch to celebrate!

CONGRATULATIONS  Halee and Matt!
I wish you both all the happiness for you and your growing family xxxMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical GardensMaroochydore Botanical Gardens
