When I received a message from Sandra regarding her wedding photography, it was a bit of a different request to what I would normally be asked, Sandra and Nigel were going to be married by Pash and Dash Weddings and Elopements which in their package includes Venue which you can’t go wrong with Maleny Manor, Celebrant, Photographer, Flowers, Cake etc.
They have the photographer for a set time and have their photos within the grounds at Maleny Manor. Sandra was looking for some photos of her getting ready, location photos which Sandra asked for the infamous One Tree Hill, Maleny and Reception. DONE DONE and DONE!
Sandra sounded like a fun loving, bubbly person and I thought to myself this is going to be so much fun………..and they didn’t disappoint. While reading Sandra and Nigel’s questionnaires I have never laughed so hard while reading a clients questionnaire, they are hilarious, sweet, naughty and very cheeky!
Once I done the getting ready ready photos I headed into Maleny to wait for the ceremony to be over and for Sandra, Nigel and Bridal party to arrive at One Tree Hill.
Did we have the best time YES……..with tonnes of laughter, romantic moments and some shenanigans!
During reception for those who weren’t at the ceremony Rachel from Immortalising Moments worked her magic and created a highlight film for Sandra and Nigel’s guests. It’s pretty special! Check it out and click on the link https://vimeo.com/188372218
Thankyou so much Sandra and Nigel for being amazing and choosing me to be part of such a special day

Why I love the Speeches!
While I was photographing a wedding over the weekend and I was listening to the speeches I got a little teary. Actually I’m not going to lie I always get teary during the speeches.
Why, you ask?
Well to me apart from the ceremony when a couple write their own vows. I just love the hearing how couples meet from someone else’s perspective. You hear the real way they met. You hear from their families and friends about them growing up. All the sad times and all the amazingly happy times. The roads they have traveled bad and good to hearing how their loved ones are so proud of them.
It gets me teary every single time, even when I am second shooting and I have never met the couple until their wedding day.
This wedding last weekend I was photographing struck a cord with me and they weren’t even my clients. It was their vows they wrote to each other but the speeches two in particular. The Maid of Honour made such a beautiful speech about her friend. She shared how the bride was a bit of a rebel, and is now 6 months off being a fully qualified accountant. What an achievement it was and how much her friend had turned her life around, the whole room was almost in tears too.
The other was the Best Man. He mentioned how the bride and groom met (the real version). It was pretty damn funny, went on about how proud he was of the groom and how they had met and stories of growing up, but at the very end of his speech he mentioned a quote from Dr Seuss ( quote is under the photo above ), one I had never heard before, I just loved it.
These two gorgeous humans had their wedding day at Yandina Station, an amazing venue for weddings! The food and atmosphere was awesome!
I walked into Lauren’s mum and dad’s house and first thing I noticed was Lauren’s dress, it is just stunning! this just wasn’t any wedding dress this was Lauren’s dream dress she had pictured from when she was a young girl. When she went dress shopping first bridal store she seen her dress and that was it……perfect! And she just looked so so beautiful in it! Luke is going to be blown away!
Morning went smoothly with girls getting their hair and makeup done, Lauren’s was pacing the backyard reciting his speech for later that night and Lauren’s mum making sure everything was organised!
Lauren had a bit of a suprise for her parents too, she managed to have the lace from her mum’s wedding dress around her bouquet of flowers aswell as her mum’s corsage and dads boutonniere.
All of sudden it was time to get ready, everyone made a mad dash to get organised and out the door.
When i got to the Boys at the ceremony they were cool and calm, Luke was excited and just wanted to see Lauren already…….his face when he seen her for the first time said it all really!
Ceremony was so sweet, all the bridal party shared a little quote one by one, lots of laughs during the ceremony and the way Lauren and Luke looked at each other was truly beautiful! They were married by Jarrad Bayliss Celebrant who was very professional with all the details of their ceremony.
Such a perfect day, definately a wedding to remember!
Congratulations Lauren and Luke xox
